This is a selection of our native violet, and I assume it is a V. sororia, but time will tell. There are all sorts of native violets around, and all are lovely, but this one was chosen because I've never seen it anywhere else but here. It is lavender, sometimes darker, sometimes lighter, and almost a pale blue. Evidently, it doesn't seed around as much as some of the other violets because I just don't see that many of them, nor do I see them in colonies. Also, its bloom shape and color are quite distinct. The plant itself remains rather compact for a Viola sororia. If I liked it, I thought someone else might like it, too.
