Violetsblew 2026
This violet is new to the nursery. It originated here just last year, so it has no history to speak of. What history it does have, albeit a short one, is that it appeared in the nursery in a slightly different form in 2026. I noticed it was different from anything else so I isolated it. I have watched it, wondered about it, cared for it, and fretted over it. All of my hovering must have done the trick, because it is lovely and seems to be in its true form now. It was a very nice violet scent.
The blooms are somewhat large and white with pink "frosting" on each petal's edges and with pink veining throughout. I am particularly fond of violets that have showy veining. This is not a registered violet, as there is no longer an American Violet Society, so I have given it the name of my daughter. Once, when we were talking about our favorite colors when she was a little girl, she chimed in with, "As for me, I like pink." Well, here's a nice pink violet with her name on it.
